Health District alert at Salem Woods Elementary – Today Snohomish Health District officials ordered Salem Woods Elementary School students to stay home if not fully vaccinated to prevent Chickenpox. Students can return to school with written proof of vaccination or immunity.
Rising reports of children with chicken pox prompted this action. At this time there is no action ordered for other schools.
We understand the inconvenience for families but hope we all agree that the health of our community’s children is the top priority. For more information about the Health District’s order, the chickenpox illness, or the vaccine please use this link to Salem Woods Elementary School website. -
2009-2010 school budget work begins – Monroe school leaders are launching their annual community budget work on Nov. 18. This year with a looming shortfall anticipated in the state budget, we are working to plan ahead for any drop in state support. Of course, just like with your family costs continue to rise. It is always healthy to look for ways to economize further. Those interested in joining in as a partner in this effort may contact Dr. Ken Hoover, superintendent of schools.
