Math Curriculum

The Curriculum Math specialist assists educators to acquire research-based math and learning strategies based on NCTM Standards and the Washington State EALRs.

The workshops listed below are available to your school district. Contact the Curriculum/Math coordinator at MERO/ESD 105 for the sessions your district would like.

Workshops dealing with school reform, the EALRs, Grade Level Content Expectations, WASL Test and Item Specifications, sample assessments, released WASL items, mathematical content, and pedagogy are also available.

Title I Planning

 

 

The Curriculum/Math Coordinator helps to develop and organize plans for implementing Title I Schoolwide projects to serve the needs of Title I students and issues revolving around program alignment and effective use of resources.

 

BEAM

Bridges to Excellence: Achievement in Mathematics seeks to help teachers implement models of teaching that increase mathematical understanding for English Language Learner students in meaningful and challenging ways. The content of the workshop includes information about language acquisition, scaffolding, assessment, and a sample mathematics lesson with examples of a dual-objective lesson plan format.
